What a wonderful collection of apparativos! The book of the summer has lead me to a collect and try as many as is humanly possible. See what a delicious collection the authors have lead me to create! Almost all of the drinks are easily made (with a few hard-to-find ingredients notwithstanding), incredibly tasty, very low alcohol and fairly low calorie - they pack a refreshing punch at lunch and through the afternoon and evening. My favorite uses one of the oldest (possibly, the oldest) apparativo Salers - made with Gentian root, it is outstanding when pared with cucumber, salt, white vermouth, lime, and soda/seltzer. Only 3/4 oz of Salers and 3/4 oz of vermouth make for a delicious adult refresher on a hot day.

I am not much of a drinker, in all honesty. For me, a nice cocktail is more theory than reality. I like a drink that is not sweet, not high alcohol, a bit fruity, a bit celebratory, even on an ordinary day. Spritzes totally fill the bill, and this book really delivers on drinks that are light, refreshing, unique, and interesting. My favorite thus far is the Taracco Spritz, which has become our spring house drink. Cheers!

This is a great, compact, well-designed book. In addition to cocktails there are a bunch of recipes for Italian aperitivos (little bar snacks, similar to tapas). Just got this book the other day, but I've already gone to the liquor store so I can try some of the more interesting cocktail recipes. Also really like how the book describes the spritz/aperitif sub-cultures of northern Italy. If/when I make it back I'm definitely using this book as a guideLooking forward to warmer weather so I can throw a spritz-inspired party.

This is the cutest coffee table book. My signature drink at my wedding was an Aperol Spritz so when I saw this book at Antropologie, I knew I needed it for my new apartment. I checked Amazon and the price here was way better than Anthropologie's (no surprise there).Aesthetically, the book's quality is way better than I expected. The cover has a cool matte vintage-like texture, as do the pages, which are very thick and sturdy. The photos are absolutely gorgeous- they're art-print quality and I would pull them out and frame them if I didn't love the book itself so much. There is also a cool mix of mid century modern style illustrations in a warm, somewhat masculine palette of colors.The writing is simple and the stories interesting. The recipes are the perfect mix of classic, modern, and DIY. It may not be a book I turn to often for recipes except occasionally in advance of a dinner party, but it's one I'm so happy to have in my collection and love leafing through when I notice it on my side table.

It would’ve been nice to get some more history or at least some better explanations of the flavor profiles on each amaro used. The kindle version isn’t great at all. Each recipe is in two different places for some reason. Over all a d cent read to get some recipe ideas, but we all know that’s easy to get online. Wished for more substance.

Great book - very informative and enjoyable. I only wish that we could get all the fantastic liquors that are mentioned in the recipes. They aren't all available in MA that I've been able to find.

I'm a fan of the Aperol Spritz and am happy to have this engaging history of the drink as well as so many new inventive recipes for variations on the spritz theme, as well as a few aperitivo food recipes to go along with it.

Fun to read, fun to make...all recipes are easy to understand although I maybe not be able to get the same booze for some of them, but heck, I improvise....no problem.

This is a great book with informative pictures and well explained answers. I liked it so well I bought both in the series, plus the fairly pricey Made To Measure Textbook by Kromidas. You will be an HPLC wizard after reading these three books. My only dislike is that is assumes the reader is using a UV detector, and sometimes answers questions with information, such as his common fixes with pH and buffer advice, that would help with UV detectors, but are not very useful for LC/MS.

I have worked in the field on HPLC for many years but still found a lot of useful information and hints which I had never encountered before, like peak hight and area related to pump and injector problems. Not every item may be applicable to your specific field ou activity, but the book contains much good practical infromation for the beginner and advanced chromatographer as well. It is also not dependent on specific configurations or system models and, therefore, more timeless and useful for anyone. Recommended.

About the Author

Fencing Master Paul Sise is the owner and head coach of Pioneer Valley Fencing Academy in Western Massachusetts, where he teaches beginning through advanced foil and epee. His students range from recreational fencers to national competitors. He also teaches fencing at The Eagle Hill School, an excellent college preparatory boarding school for students with learning disabilities. With Coach Robert Ferullo (also of Pioneer Valley), he wrote "Coaching Fencers with Learning Disabilities," which was published in the Winter 2006 edition of the USFCA magazine, The Swordmaster. Paul holds Level 3 Certification in all three weapons from the USFA Coaches College, and is certified as a Level 3 Armorer by the Armorers College. From the USFCA and the International Academy of Arms, he holds the titles Prévôt d' Armes (Provost at Arms) and Maitre d' Escrime Epee (Master of Epee Fencing). He is a former Secretary of the USFCA. Sise remains active in the USFCA by attending conferences, sitting on examining boards, and teaching coaching clinics in the New England area. Paul is a graduate of Lawrence University, where he earned a B.A. in Geology and was Most Valuable Fencer his senior year. He attended UMass, Amherst, for graduate school where he helped coach the fencing club and earned a M.S. in Geology. He currently lives in Western Mass with his wife Karen and daughter Zoe.

Great quality for the price all the way.. Would recommend this to every coin collector. The only thing i found to be a con if anything is on some slots it was hard to force the pennies in but thats it.

I've been buying Whitman coin books since I was a kid...These books hold up very well over time! I even have a couple of Whitman [penny] coin books that my grandfather started over 35 years ago, and the books are still in one piece. As long as you're working on a hard, flat surface with nothing else under your coin book, then you'll never have to worry about ripping out or punching through the back of your book. Yes, most of the coin books out there have tight cutouts for the coins... Forget the sore thumbs; I use the plastic "butt end" of an `ultra fine point' Sharpie marker to push in my coins. This method also makes it possible for my kids to push the coins in to the holes.TIP: I bought 2 of these books for my kids. When I received them, I discovered that they were probably printed 6, and 7 years ago! One book only had dates and quantities minted for pennies from 1999 - 2008; the other book only had dates and quantities minted for pennies from 1999 - 2009 (but didn't have the varieties printed for the 4 different 2009 pennies). This means that two full pages in both books had blank holes (i.e. 60 blank holes in each books). I guess I could use these books to hold my coins up through 2040-ish, and then transfer the coins over to a future book that will have the printed info for the pennies. But for the time being... the book that you should really consider is the, "Lincoln Cents Folder Starting 1975 (Official Whitman Coin Folder)"; it holds pennies from 1975 - 2013 (with locations for all of the 1982 & 2009 varieties)!

Bought this and I am always happy with this brand of book. This book is made very well and I'm always very happy to get these.

I can't believe I have not left a review on this book. I love cherise Sinclair. I enjoyed this book very much. I like the fact that the characters are an older couple but actually not really. The woman in the story has raised her children already. What I like the most is that the couple have real chemistry. That's the thing about Ms. Sinclair is that she can really put together a picture of two people having chemistry. The power exchange is very realistic and something to actually enjoy. It's not over the top boring on abuse some books have been writing. It's actually real power exchange. I have read this story three times.

4 ⭐️I enjoyed this one better than the first. Simon is a good character and not as overpowering as Logan, so I connected better with him. I really liked Rona. I liked that she was an older character who wasn’t afraid to take charge when required, and I also enjoyed that she made the younger Dom lose control of the scene. I thought that was funny.The chemistry between the two was off the charts and well done. It was good seeing her being the handbrake and I understood her reasons for it. After seeing more of Logan, Becca and Jake I’m looking forward to Jake’s book

I made an unwitting mistake. The first book in the bdsm romance genre I ever read was by Cherise Sinclair. My mistake was that I thought all books would be wonderfully characterized and intricately wrought stories. I found out otherwise! Only a handful of writers come close to Cherise Sinclair's talent. This novella is a wonderful taste of her writing. If you haven't read her other books, DO SO!! So very worth your time!

Like most of Sinclair's stories, this one was a winner. But I gave it only 4 stars b/c of the length. There's a reason her books run 200-300 pages, she takes the needed time to develop her characters so you understand why they're doing what they're doing.... this book @ barely 100 didn't allow for the necessary structure.The ending just seemed to ..... end. I'm sure Simon & Rona, like most of Sinclair's other characters will surface in her other Dark Haven books when other characters find their HEA, but this story deserved more of a proper "tie up" than it was given.Lots of heat & realistic intro into the BDSM scene but left me hanging.

Love this series, strong and sensitive men with women who want to explore a better and more fufilling sex life. BDSM is about control, about relinquishing that control for the sub. But it's not just sex but the Doms ability to see into the soul of their sub and take care of her (or him). This is a great story about the meeting of two people, one lonely, well both are lonely, it's about letting go and letting someone in. The author is killing me here, where can I find my own Dom? It's about cherishing each other. Great read, not dark, full of heart.

The characters are alive and complex. Simon is absolutely drool worthy. Well, he has decided that he wants a mature woman to be his submissive not a young flipping woman. Will Rona be able to take that step? A sexy, delightful story. I would like to hear more about Simon and Rona.

Simon is a very experienced Dom he has played a lot but hasn't had one sub that he wanted to keep tell her meets Rona now he can get her out of his head. She has just went through a Divorce and her kids are grown now she is trying to fill a bucket list and have some fun out of life. Little does she know one night of fun at a BDSM club will change her whole life. So enjoy the read and see how they go about finding their HEA ! !

Great story involving Simon and Rona who are older and wiser participates in BDSM. The story was good and the sex great. It just seems too short and not finished.
